I recently purchased the chisels and am very happy with them so far. The chisels came nicely polished right out of the box and require only minimal effort to hone them. They came nicely sharpened and were useable but need (like all edged tools) slight honing to be in tip top shape. I did find (as expected) that the chisels were a little to thick for fine carving but I am well satisfied with them as I feel this is a good entry level set although it could have some other chisels added to make the set more complete. If you're looking for a starter set of carving chisels I feel you can't go wrong for with this set. The price is reasonable and the quality is what one would expect, the thick metal is forgiving and allows you to mess up sharpening a time or two.
